Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. As required by fasb asc 740-10, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes (fin 48), a review of the organization's not-for-profit status was made to assess any level of uncertainty of the maintenance of the tax exempt status in the future. The regulations prescribe a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The evaluation is a two-step process. The first step is a measurement process to determine whether it is more likely than not that a tax position will be sustained upon examination, based on the technical merits of position. The second step is a measurement process whereby a tax position that meets the more likely than not recognition threshold is calculated to determine the amount of benefit to recognize in the financial statements. Management concluded that it is more likely than not that the organization's tax exempt status will be maintained in perpetuity and therefore the organization does not have any uncertain tax positions which might require recognition under fin 48.

GLEAN KENTUCKY PARTNERS WITH OVER 64 DISTRIBUTION SITES IN CENTRAL KENTUCKY, INCLUDING CHURCHES, PANTRIES, AND AGENCIES TO REACH THESE RECIPIENTS.
