“Program service accomplishmenets (continued) organization's mission: educate the public about local sustainable economies, promote economic and community development through environmentally and socially responsible enterpreneurship, work to advance socially responsible economic and community development policies and procedures. In support of their mission, accomplishments during 2020 included the following: - continued our work highlighting\elevating new mexico businesses creating impact through advocacy and thoughtful business practices. - worked in collaboration with other non-profits to educate new mexicans about potential dangers to chaco canyon from oil & gas development. - spotlight and share positive impact and business success stories around the growing outdoor economy in new mexico. - developed a business network called "greater gila business network" - surveyed businesses in the greater gila to better understand the limitations within their businesses and where they most need support. - organized business voices around the economic advantages in support of state and federal methane reduction strategies. - educated the business community to the economic benefits of strong state laws regulating methane and other vocs released during oil and gas operations. - advanced the discussion of econominc benefits of public lands. Highlight the importance of public lands to local economies. Highlight elements of conservation and clean energy policies of interest to businesses. Maintained programs to encourage businesses to become more eco-friendly and energy efficient.”
