Mission

Our mission is to stand in the gap for vulnerable populations while empowering youth to actively transform their communities. We accomplish this through our proactive communities model which helps schools, businesses, and nonprofits cross social, racial, and economic boundaries through facilitated diversity, equity, and inclusion curriculum and human-centered service projects.

Our mission is to engage youth in public service that educates, delights and inspires youth abd those they serve.

This grant helped us get closer to the completion of our program curriculum by hiring an instructional design consultant to assist with the design and writing of our robust 8-year program curriculum that equips educators and facilitators with the tools necessary to implement our unique youth service-learning programs. With the completion of our program curriculum being built and delivered through an online Learning Management System we are calling ProAct University, we were able to reach five times more people as we did last fiscal year by leveraging technology to deliver our programs. The success and efficiency of this was an unexpected benefit as we did not realize just how much more efficient, we can be with our productivity/outputs, and how much more we were able to be accurate in our data and impact. With a beautiful online curriculum that is as robust as it is functional, we also did not anticipate the popularity of our service-learning programs to catch on so quickly. The challenge and lesson learned with such growth was that program staff required more support to handle our increased workload and we needed to improve our internal operations as a result by seeking out help in the role of a part-time COO and masters-level interns who helped managed some day to day workflows and program support in the field.

The expenses for this grant went towards the completion of our program curriculum, ProAct University, to complete the design implementation of our system that allows us to track, optimize, and deploy our curriculum WORLDWIDE 10,000. This grant also supported 2 schools hosting our Kids in Action program that engaged 3,000 students in meaningful community service .20,000 of expenses supported transportation for our youth program supplies , 6 service projects and 24 leadership development workshops. ADDITIONAL EXPENSES stipends, payroll taxes and fees for our site leaders who facilitate the youth programs. 5,000 was used towards general operating expenses for the organization.

This grant was part of the indianapollis busines journals top 40 under 40 community impact awards that allowed us to support the remaining 2 schools hosting our kids in action program that emgaged 3000 students in meaningful service throughout the school year. 20000.00 of expenses from this grant supported transporatatoin for our youth program supplies to help our youth complete 6 service projects and 24 leadership worlshops they participated in during the 6 months of programming. The reamining monies were used for site leaders, payroll payroll taxes as well as project materials and supplies ..

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1This grant helped us get closer to the completion of our program curriculum by hiring an instructional design consultant to assist with the design and writing of our robust 8-year program curriculum that equips educators and facilitators with the tools necessary to implement our unique youth service-learning programs. With the completion of our program curriculum being built and delivered through an online Learning Management System we are calling ProAct University, we were able to reach five times more people as we did last fiscal year by leveraging technology to deliver our programs. The success and efficiency of this was an unexpected benefit as we did not realize just how much more efficient, we can be with our productivity/outputs, and how much more we were able to be accurate in our data and impact. With a beautiful online curriculum that is as robust as it is functional, we also did not anticipate the popularity of our service-learning programs to catch on so quickly. The challenge and lesson learned with such growth was that program staff required more support to handle our increased workload and we needed to improve our internal operations as a result by seeking out help in the role of a part-time COO and masters-level interns who helped managed some day to day workflows and program support in the field.

This grant also supported 2 schools hosting our Kids in Action program that engaged 3,000 students in meaningful community service .20,000 of expenses supported transportation for our youth program supplies , 6 service projects and 24 leadership development workshops. ADDITIONAL EXPENSES stipends, payroll taxes and fees for our site leaders who facilitate the youth programs. 5,000 was used towards general operating expenses for the organization.
