Camp ohel, inc. (d.b.a. Camp kaylie) was incorporated july 16, 2008 as a new york not-for-profit corporation for the primary objective of developing and operating a fully integrated summer camp for children with and without developmental disabilities.

On an annual basis, a committee of the board establishes the CEO's compensation, and the audit committee approves the compensation of all other officers and key employees, as recommended by the CEO. No member of the committee has a conflict of interest with respect to the compensation arrangements. The committee reviews compensation studies and comparable compensation data for functionally comparable positions at similarly situated organizations. The committee contemporaneously documents and records, in its minutes, its deliberations and decisions.

THE GOALS FOR CAMP KAYLIE ARE AIMED AT FOSTERING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, SELF-CONFIDENCE, SOCIALIZATION, INDEPENDENCE, LEADERSHIP, AND COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITIES, AMONG CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES. A RELATIVELY UNIQUE BUT IMPORTANT ASPECT OF CAMP KAYLIE'S PROGRAMS IS THE CAMPER POPULATE DESIGNED TO INCLUDE TYPICALLY DEVELOPING CHILDREN (I.E. CHILDREN WITHOUT DISABILITIES). THE OBJECTIVE FOR INTEGRATING TYPICALLY DEVELOPING CHILDREN WITH CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES IS AIMED AT ENHANCING THE ABILITY OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES TO LEARN AND DEVELOP SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE IN THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE SETTING. CAMP KAYLIE'S INCLUSION AND INTEGRATION CONCEPT WILL PERMIT DISABLED AND NON-DISABLED SIBLINGS TO ATTEND CAMP TOGETHER. THESE ACTIVITIES WERE CURTAILED IN FISCAL MARCH 31, 2021 DUE TO COVID. THE CAMP GROUNDS WERE USED IN THE SUMMER OF 2020 TO PROVIDE RESPITE TO PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND TO PROVIDE NYS OPWDD SERVICES TO THOSE CHILDREN.
