We also engaged in negotiations with the University of California over their plan to build a 780 bed dormitory next to 2430 Bancroft Way. We argued the building was oversized for the neighborhood and needed a full environmental report. Our negotiations resulted in a $70,000 settlement to help University Press Books and the 2430 Arts Alliance protect the adjacent spaces for use during construction and replace some public art .
