The average rent of a home share now match was 290 per month which saved home seekers 157,996 in rental expenses. 31% of all home seekers provided services in lieu of rent and paid 0 in rent per month. While new infrastructure is important in meeting housing needs, the 99 units created by home share now by utilizing existing housing stock would cost at least 19 million to build new. Home share now matched home seekers provided 12,125 hours of assistance, enabling older adults and others to stay safely at home. These services represent a potential savings of 144,651 for home providers and their families. Older adults likely saved 354,423 in nursing home diversion thanks to home share now. 94% of matched home sharers reported an improvement in at least one quality of life indicator such as feeling safer, less lonely, happier and healthier. 98% of matched persons responding to the fy17 outcomes survey would recommend home share now to family and friends. `
