Main activities feature curatorial research, artists commissions, as well as free education and cultural programs. Free cultural events include artist and panel discussions as well as spoken word, music, and other offerings to engage diverse audiences and increase access to the arts. Nle curatorial lab (nle lab) is a professional development program for emerging curators and arts professionals interested in gaining direct experience curating in an expanded field. With a focus on research, project-based learning and collaboration, nle lab deepens an understanding of the development of exhibition and related programming within the context of an urban setting and culminates in a site-responsive exhibition. Nle education programs inspire new york city's yough collective storytelling and re-imagining public spaces through art.
