University of arizona health network (uahn) was established by the arizona board of regents with the goal of creating an integrated healthcare delivery system. In order to accomplish this goal, uahn coordinates and provides corporate services on a coordinated basis to the university of arizona medical center corporation (uamcc) and the university of arizona physicians (uap). To this end, starting march 18, 2013, uahn is responsible for employing and providing all personel necessary to provide services within the integrated healthcare delivery system. Revenue for provision of these personnel services is included in the management fees received from uamcc and uap.

Income taxes footnote from the university of arizona health network and subsidiaries consolidated financial report: in general, uahn and its subsidiaries are not-for-profit entities as described in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (the code) and are exempt from federal and state income taxes on related income pursuant to section 501(a) of the code and related state laws. The corporation has reviewed its tax positions for all open tax years and has concluded that no liabilities exist as of june 30, 2014 and 2013. The corporation files tax returns with the u.s. Federal and the state of arizona jurisdictions. With few exceptions, the corporation is no longer subject to u.s. Federal examinations by tax authorities for years before 2010.
