| Firefighter credit unions have been meeting since 2001 at an annual conference put on by a for profit conference facilitator. In 2010 the National Coalition of Credit Unions Inc. (NCOFCU) was formed as a not for profit in the state of Florida by the original founder. In 2012 the operation of the corporation was transferred to a board elected by the membership of credit unions. The first conference, that the corporation hired their own facilitator to it put on as a not for profit, was in Boston10/ 2013 with the next scheduled for San Diego 10/2014. Up until the formation of the 501c3, activity was not reported to the IRS.”
