Mission

GRIA is an independent, resident-based neighborhood association that provides an inclusive forum for discussion of Remington community issues, facilitates resident-led initiatives, connects residents to local resources, conducts advocacy on neighborhood issues, organizes and provides neighborhood cleaning and greening initiatives, and directly supports our neighbors in need through housing services.

PLACEMAKING PROGRAM - A COVID-19 response program that funded installations that improved mobility and safety for Remingtonians and provided Remington businesses the opportunity to remain open and service customers safely. Installations included physical barriers such as bollards and planters to protect outdoor dining and retail areas from motor vehicle traffic, and boardwalk and decking to widen pedestrian sidewalks.-$13,324
SAFE AND HEALTHY HOMES - THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR NEIGHBORS, ESPECIALLY OUR LEGACY LOW-INCOME NEIGHBORS, IS ANOTHER KEY PRIORITY OF OUR WORK. WE IDENTIFY OR PROVIDE CAPITAL RESOURCES TO IMPLEMENT CRITICAL IMPROVEMENTS TO HOMEOWNERS IN NEED OF ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL SUPPORT.-$9,007
COMMUNITY KITCHEN - A partnership with the Church of the Guardian Angel and R. House. The goal of our partnership is 1) to provide healthy meals to the individuals and families typically served through the Church of the Guardian Angels food pantry, 2) support the small businesses at R. House food stalls and their employees, 3) build community amongst Remington residents, businesses, and employees representing a diversity of socio-economic backgrounds. With each $10 donation, we can provide a high-quality well-balanced meal to an under-resourced community member while also fairly compensating the small businesses working hard to survive the current economic climate.-$7,168
