“The mission of the corporation is, that: we are committed to the public welfare of new mexicans through the establishment of quality, competency- based certification programs for professionals engaged in the prevention and treatment of addictions and related problems. Our objectives are to create and maintain a community-based support system for behavioral professionals. To administer oral and written examinations, to evaluate candidates and to issue credentials to behavioral health professionals. To provide resources and continuing education to behavioral health professionals to enable them to expand their knowledge and improve their skills. To review complaints of unprofessional and unethical conduct by practitioners and to impose sanctions when appropriate.”

“Over the past three years we have certified 139 peer specialists workers, 18 certified peer family specialists, and 5 cwf wrap around facilitators for the state of new mexico. The nmcbbhp has completed 60 renewal applications, had 6 bi-monthly meetings and 1 genereal board meeting and two annual retreats, nmcbbhp has promoted and advocated in the state of new mexico for all board credentials and ceretification processes. We provide on-going technical certification guidelines and assistance to the behavioral health field in new mexico.”
