Our conflict of interest policy outlines how we identify and manage situations where the personal interests of board members and officers may potentially conflict with our organization's best interests. All board members disclose any potential conflicts of interest annually via a signed document. Our review and mitigation process includes assigning a committee to determine whether a conflict exists and how it will be addressed. We require individuals with a conflict to recuse themselves from discussions and voting on matters where their interests are involved.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

A competent salary survey is used to benchmark compensation for the position utilizing comparable nonprofit organizations in our area and other studies as appropriate. The personnel committee meets independent of the executive director to discuss performance relative to the position description. During these deliberations, the personnel committee also considers input obtained from other board members, staff, professional advisors, grant recipients, and other informed community leaders. Once a consensus is reached regarding performance, a similar discussion is held concerning compensation relative to annual benchmark and established objectives. The personnel committee presents its findings and recommendations, in an executive session without the executive director present, to the full board for review and approval. The personnel committee and/or the board president then meet with the executive director to discuss and document strengths, weaknesses, and goals for the upcoming year. Compensation for the upcoming year is also discussed and documented. We conduct an annual compensation review for all employees to ensure that all salaries and benefits are reasonable and not excessive. Our review process is documented and approved by disinterested board members using comparable salary and benefit data from similar local and regional nonprofit organizations.

IN THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR, OVER 1,800 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.
