Slcc is a faith-based, not-for-profit cardiovascular specialty organization committed to providing superior cardiovascular health care and health services. We value an integrated approach emphasizing clinical excellence, advanced cardiovascular research, and subspecialty medical education. As a member of saint luke's health system, we are dedicated to enhancing the physical, mental and spiritual health of the diverse communities we serve.

The saint luke's health system board of directors' physician contract review committee also reviews and approves physician compensation for slcc. Directors are not compensated for services as a director.

PHYSICIANS IN SLCC ARE PART OF THE TEACHING FACULTY AT SAINT LUKE'S HOSPITAL OF KANSAS CITY AND HOLD FACULTY APPOINTMENTS AT THE UMKC SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. MEDICAL STUDENTS AND RESIDENTS ROTATE ON THE INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY'S CARDIOLOGY SERVICE STAFFED BY SLCC'S PHYSICIANS. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE ACGME-ACCREDITED FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS IN CARDIOVASCULAR MEDICINE, ADVANCE HEART FAILURE AND CARDIAC TRANSPLANT, ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY, INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY, AND CARDIOVASCULAR OUTCOMES. FELLOWSHIPS IN PREVENTIVE CARDIOLOGY AND CARDIOVASCULAR IMAGING ARE ALSO OFFERED. THE PROGRAM DIRECTORS FOR ALL OF THESE CARDIOVASCULAR FELLOWSHIPS ARE SLCC PHYSICIANS.SLCC IS ALSO DEDICATED TO CLINICAL RESEARCH. ITS PHYSICIANS ARE LEADING RESEARCH PROJECTS THAT ARE SHAPING THE FUTURE OF CARDIOLOGY BY HELPING DEFINE THE PRACTICE OF CARDIOLOGY TODAY, AND GUIDING HOW IT WILL BE PRACTICED IN THE FUTURE.
