Mission

Support programs, organizations and individuals whose mission and efforts are dedicated to improving the quality of life in tampa bay. Hands across the bay was developed to positively impact the lives of as many tampa bay residents as possible. (continued on schedule o)(continued from part iii, line 1)we assist and mentor hardworking families in need, advocate for change, support other organizations, and spread love with various acts of kindness. Through our work, we hope to inspire our community to become more compassionate, empathetic, and charitable. Our efforts range from simple acts of kindness such as paying an electric bill to hosting signature events which bring together many members of the community generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of local charities.

OUR PRESIDENT AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SPEAK TO AND MEET THE INDIVIDUALS TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY. IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED, THE ORGANIZATION REQUESTS CERTAIN FINANCIAL INFORMATION. IF AN INDIVIDUAL IS DEEMED NEEDY, THEN HANDS ACROSS THE BAY REQUESTS COPIES OF BILLS THAT ARE MOST URGENT TO BE PAID (I.E. ELECTRIC, WATER, RENT, CAR NOTE, INSURANCE). WE PAY THE BILL DIRECTLY TO THE COMPANY THAT IS OWED MONEY. IF A FAMILY IS IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE WITH OTHER ITEMS SUCH AS GROCERIES, GAS, CLOTHING - THE ORGANIATION WILL PURCHASE A GIFT CARD AND PROVIDE TO THE FAMILY/INDIVIDUAL OR PURCHASE THE ITEMS DIRECTLY AND MEET WITH THE FAMILY TO GIVE THE ITEMS TO THEM. IN SOME INSTANCES WHEN A FAMILY IS REQUESTING CASH SUPPORT, WE REQUIRE 3 MONTHS OF THE MOST RECENT BANK STATEMENTS AND MEET AND SPEAK WITH THE FAMILY PRIOR TO PROVIDING SUPPORT DIRECTLY TO THEM.
