Mission

Transit alliance is committed to communicating the value of regional mass transportation needs and options. The alliance fosters education across the region about the economic value of mass transit investments. Through these communication and education efforts, the alliance will actively participate in the steps necessary to secure dedicated revenues for mass transit investments in the months and years ahead.

The mission of the transit alliance of middle tennessee is to encourage both private and public sector support for new investments in mass transit in the ten county region of middle tennessee.

THE TRANSIT ALLIANCE OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE CONTINUED TO ADVANCE ITS MISSION IN 2024, BUILDING ON ITS 2023-2027 STRATEGIC PLAN TO BE A REGIONAL SOURCE FOR INFORMATION-SHARING, NETWORKING, AND CONVENING AROUND MOBILITY ISSUES.IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NETWORK FOR SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS (NSS), THE ALLIANCE LAUNCHED PHASE 2 OF THE TRANSIT TOGETHER INITIATIVE, ATTENDING 11 COMMUNITY EVENTS TO SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF INVESTMENTS IN TRANSPORTATION AND MOBILITY INFRASTRUCTURE, INCLUDING SIDEWALKS, EXPANDED BUS SERVICE, AND BUS RAPID TRANSIT. AT THESE EVENTS, THE ALLIANCE DISTRIBUTED BRANDED MATERIALS SUCH AS T-SHIRTS AND COLLECTIBLE "BASEBALL CARDS" FEATURING MOBILITY STATISTICS, ENGAGING IN HUNDREDS OF CONVERSATIONS WITH NASHVILLE RESIDENTS ON HOW TO ENHANCE REGIONAL LIVABILITY.THE ALLIANCE HOSTED ITS 26TH AWARD-WINNING TRANSIT CITIZEN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (TCLA) IN 2024, ADDING 24 NEW ALUMNI AND BRINGING THE PROGRAM'S TOTAL TO 620 REGIONAL LEADERS. TCLA CONTINUES TO DEVELOP KNOWLEDGEABLE ADVOCATES, EQUIPPING PARTICIPANTS TO BE LOCAL THOUGHT LEADERS ON MOBILITY AND TRANSIT.TO EXPAND ITS ROLE AS A CONVENER, THE ALLIANCE HELD ITS INAUGURAL BREAKFAST FOR BETTER MOBILITY, A REGIONAL NETWORKING AND LEARNING EVENT THAT BROUGHT TOGETHER OVER 135 BUSINESS, ELECTED, AND CIVIC LEADERS TO HEAR FROM A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TRANSPORTATION EXPERT AND DISCUSS MOBILITY SOLUTIONS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE.THROUGHOUT 2024, THE ALLIANCE'S PRESIDENT AND CEO WAS FREQUENTLY SOUGHT AS A SPEAKER AND PANELIST, REINFORCING THE ORGANIZATION'S LEADERSHIP ROLE AND THE GROWING DEMAND FOR ITS EXPERTISE.
