Mission

The particular business and objects of the association shall be: (i)to provide a means whereby persons engaged in the industries of (a) furnishing and applying insulation to piping, apparatus, and ducts in connection with heating, plumbing, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, and to steam generating and industrial processing equipment, (b) sealing of through penetrations, openings, and gaps in rated walls and floors, including slab-edges to prevent the passage of fire, smoke, or other gases, may meet, fraternize and exchange ideas in relation to said industries (the industries described in (a) and (b) are referred to herein collectively as the "industries"); (ii)to develop and foster fair dealings and practices and a high standard of business ethics among those engaged in the business, so that membership in the association will be a reasonable assurance to the public of the skill, integrity, and responsibilities of its members, and the public will regard members of the associa

Membership in the association shall be open to any person, legally registered partnership, limited liability company, corporation, association or other entity of good repute, which is regularly engaged in one more of the industries and which is signatory, or which desires to become signatory, to the agreement of working conditions with the international association of heat and frost insulators and asbestos workers (allied workers) local no. 91 covering the counties of westchester, rockland, orange, putnam and dutchess in the state of new york.

Each board member shall be elected at an annual meeting of the association members for a two-year term that is staggered so two board members are elected each year.election of officers and board members at an annual meeting shall be by secret ballot in those cases where more than one nomination to any single office has been made. The election of the officers shall be simple majority of votes cast for each respective officer.

Amendments to the constitution may be proposed by two or more members submitting the proposed amendment to the executive director in writing via e-mail or registered mail fifteen (15) days prior to a scheduled general membership meeting. Proposed amendments will be submitted by email to the members with a ballot and a vote on the proposed amendment shall be held at the next scheduled general membership meeting held following submission of the proposed amendment to the executive director. Those members not present who wish to vote may do so via proxy or mail. A two-third majority of the total voting membership, voting affirmatively, shall be required to make any such amendment effective.
