Neighborhood Advocacy Center

“The Neighborhood Advocacy Center donated $200.00 to Justice Initiatives, who, in partnership with the Council for Children's Rights, hosted the 2014 Summer Youth Program. The Summer Youth Program provided youth involved in the Mecklenburg County, North Carolina juvenile justice system an opportunity to visit various local and national colleges, universities, and museums while on summer break from school.”

“The Neighborhood Advocacy Center provides families involved in abuse, neglect and dependency cases with legal representation and social work advocacy through a client-centered, holistic model of representation. This holistic model seeks to address the various barriers blocking parents from improving their lives and maintaining custody of their children. The Neighborhood Advocacy Center's team is composed of a Managing Attorney, Social Worker, and unpaid law student interns. The Neighborhood Advocacy Center's services are provided at no cost to the clients. The Neighborhood Advocacy Center performs its work for the social good of keeping families together and preventing children from prolonged stays in foster care.
