Also, offer space and programs for children and professional encaustic artists, to exchange information and technique for working with wax. And, provide all encaustic artists with a place to display and sell their art. “Encaustic art institute (eai) celebrated its 17th year anniversary and accomplished its long-term goal of adding the museum of encaustic art under the umbrella of eai. Housed in a new location in 2021, eai offers 1500 square feet of dedicated space for the museum's permanent collection. Paid attendance is now in place. Expanded efforts in marketing has allowed attendance to grow and the museum's presence is being recognized as the only encaustic/wax museum in america. Adult workshops are being facilitated through zoom, because pandemic requirements prohibited gatherings, the public at large is finding its confidence in meeting in small groups. Eai's member gallery is currently in storage, and a persistent marketing and social media campaign boosts the gallery's online presence. Newly allocated space for the gallery/workshops is in negotiation. Eai still meets a community need by introducing a new medium to the school arts curriculum in order to revitalize the art-making experience and provide new opportunities for creative exploration and problem solving using the instant effects of wax. This unique medium is the second oldest art from in human history and currently the fastest growing medium in the united states. Eai continues to provide a bi-annual online magazine that offers a connection for encaustic/wax enthusiasts world-wide together with an exchange of information for working artists. It currently is read in 44 countries. Eai offers subscription pricing plus vendor and artist advertising which allows the magazine to run in the black. At eai, emerging and established artists are highly valued and supported as are art enthusiasts and students of encaustic/wax art of all ages. Eai continues to solicit grant support and donations in order to maintain financial health. The commitment to relocate and expand online, negotiate new space agreements in an ever-moving pandemic circumstances has motivated eai to gain a bottom line beyond the eai membership fees, workshop fees, museum attendance, and sales of artwork.”
