With over 15 years of experience delivering engaging and inclusive programming, AHA remains a hub for music, theater, and visual arts in the community.Program Highlights & Activities:-Onsite Classes & Lessons-Offered more than 20 weekly group classes in visual arts, fashion design,theater, and rock band.-Delivered an average of 90 weekly private lessons in piano, guitar, voice, andother instruments.-Served over 250 students per term across three 12-week sessions and one 8-week summer session.-Continued offering virtual lessons as needed for absences.-Performance Opportunities-Students participated in recitals and live performances, building confidence andstage experience.-Participated in a Pride Month celebration at Socrates Sculpture Park, providingfree art activities and face painting to approximately 60 children.Theater & Musical Theater-Musical Theater Production classes reached full enrollment, serving the largestnumber of middle schoolers in AHA history.-Added new Stage Tech & Design, Costume Design, and high school theaterproduction (Next Act) classes.-Launched a Community Choir open to high school students and adults.Visual Arts-Continued small-group art and fashion design classes (46 students), focusingon drawing, painting, and creative projects.Inclusion & Accessibility-Developed inclusive programming in collaboration with parents, teachers, andspecial needs professionals.-Piloted assistant teacher roles to support students requiring additional help.-Provided professional development for teaching artists on inclusive practices.Public School Partnerships-Continued a 10th year of in-school enrichment at PS166Q, serving approximately300 students in music and theater.-Maintained partnerships with PS166Q, PS85Q and MS122, added a new 10-week theater residency with PS84Q, and began discussions with additionalschools.Financial Aid-Continued to provide need-based financial assistance to ensure accessibility forfamilies with limited income.Teacher Development-Provided stipends for teacher preparation and professional development tostrengthen instructional practice.Impact & Outcomes-Served 250+ onsite students per term through group classes and private lessons.-Delivered 90+ private lessons weekly.-Expanded theater program enrollment to record levels.-Engaged approximately 450 students in public school enrichment programs.-Increased accessibility for students with diverse needs through inclusive programming initiatives.Note: These activities were supported in part by CDF funding, which contributed to program development and accessibility efforts.
