“Throughout the FY July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022 time period, Responsible Sourcing Network, Inc. (RSN) conducted all of its exempt activities as a completely independent 501c3. Previously, RSN operated as a fiscally-sponsored project of As You Sow, a tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation (IRS EIN 94-3169008). To ease the transition to full independence, the CEO, Patricia Jurewicz, remained on As You Sow's payroll until June 30, 2022, but performed all activities for RSN and reported to the RSN Board of Directors through a Secondment Agreement between RSN and As You Sow. As a fully independent organization, RSN continues the activities and services that fulfill upon RSN's mission to foster global supply chains that are accountable toward the people and natural habitats they impact down to the raw commodity level. These activities include building responsible supply chain coalitions of diverse stakeholders including investors, companies, NGOs, academic institutions, trade associations, human rights advocates, and other interested individuals. Currently, RSN works with network participants to leverage their influence with minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas, and cotton produced with forced labor in several high-risk countries to create positive change for brands, consumers, and the impacted communities. RSN researches and releases articles and reports on the issues of cotton harvested with forced labor, minerals mined with forced labor and other exploitative practices, and the presence of modern slavery and human trafficking in global supply chains. RSN analyzes companies' activities to address human rights risks in the manufacturing of their products, promotes supply chain strategies to reduce harm, and develops innovative due diligence approaches. RSN is a member of and an active participant in several coalitions and associations that are promoting the ethical and sustainable manufacturing of goods, and its staff frequently speaks at conferences and is interviewed by the media for comments on due diligence, forced labor, and human rights abuses embedded into manufactured products.”
