IRS990/Desc0COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS OF MANCELONA IMPLEMENTS THE CIS MODEL BY POSITIONING A DEDICATED STAFF MEMBER - A SITE COORDINATOR - INSIDE PARTNER SCHOOLS TO IDENTIFY STUDENTS AT RISK OF NOT GRADUATING. THE COORDINATOR ASSESSES SCHOOL AND STUDENT NEEDS AND ESTABLISHES RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO PROVIDE NEEDED RESOURCES TO STUDENTS. WHETHER IT IS MENTORING, TUTORING, A BACKPACK WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES, A SAFE PLACE TO GO AFTER SCHOOL, OR FULFILLING THEIR QUEST TO POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION, STUDENTS CAN CONCETRATE ON LEARNING. DURING THE YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2015, CIS SERVED 903 STUDENTS K-12 WITH BOTH PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION SERVICES. THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES WERE ACHIEVED: 100% OF MANCELONA PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVED SCHOOL-WIDE PREVENTATIVE SERVICES. OVER 15% OF STUDENTS RECEIVED TARGETED AND SUSTAINED INTERVENTIONS. 14 OUT OF 15 SENIORS RECEIVED TARGETED AND SUSTAINED SERVICES GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL. 122 OF 124 STUDENTS IN GRADES K-11 WHO RECEIVED TARGET AND SUSTAINED SERVICES WERE PROMOTED TO THE NEXT GRADE. 89% OF STUDENTS IN GRADES K-12 WHO RECEIVED TARGETED AND SUSTAINED SERVICES WITH AN ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE GOAL MET THEIR GOAL. 236 STUDENTS IN GRADES K-12 ATTENDED THE CIS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM. OF THESE STUDENTS 108 ATTENDED 30 OR MORE DAYS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. 88 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED OVER 990 HOURS OF SERVICE EQUIVALENT TO OVER 19,800. 46 COMMUNITY PARTNERS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM.
