Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The composite prototyping center (cpc) is a highly specialized visionary entryway into the future. Staffed by leading experts in the field of composites, the state of the art facility enables organizations to cross boundaries, expand manufacturing scope, and to effectively compete in dynamic expanding marketplaces ranging from erospace, automotive and energy to infrastructure, transportation and consumer products. At cpc, the full gamut of composite services and resources unites, so organizations can design, prototype, test and train, all under a single roof.

To provide small and medium sized manufacturers the opportunity to address new markets that require the use of composite materials and help regional manufacturers produce composite products through training and equipment availability. Cpc will provide a full spectrum of services ranging from engineering, process development, product development, inspection, and testing, to workforce training and development.

Additional Explanations

FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

We have designated an individual with suitable skill, knowledge, or experience to oversee audit and tax preparation. We have assumed all management responsibilities.

Subsequent Event

During 2021, the boards of directors of the institute and lift resolved to merge and submitted its plan of merger for approval to the new york state attorney general. Effective march 20, 2023, the organization's certificate of merger was approved by the new york state attorney general. Pursuant to the plan of merger, lift merged into the institute, with the newly merged corporation being known as the institute for workforce advancement.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization accounts for the effect of any uncertain tax positions based on a "more likely than not" threshold to the recognition of the tax positions being sustained based on the technical merits of the position under scrutiny by the applicable taxing authority. If a tax position or positions are deemed to result in uncertainties of those positions, the unrecognized tax benefit is estimated based on a "cumulative probability assessment" that aggregates the estimated tax liability for all uncertain tax positions.interest and penalties assessed, if any, are accrued as income tax expense. The organization has identified its tax status as a tax exempt entity as a tax position; however, the organization has determined that such tax position does not result in an uncertainty requiring recognition. The organization is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. In addition, the organization qualifies as a nonprofit organization under new york state law. The organization is not currently under examination by any tax jurisdiction. Federal and state income tax returns are generally open for examination for three years.
