“Convention: state convention is an annual event that is designed to provide leadership training and inspiration for school student councils or other schoolwide student leadership groups. During the event students and advisors attend general sessions and workshops focused on leadership training and idea sharing. During this event we hold elections for state officers and vote on constitutional amendments as needed. Blast: blast stands for bringing leadership and students together. It is a 3 day summer camp experience focused on individual leadership development. District conference: we hosted 2 district conferences (north & south) from 9:30-2:30. These events focus on leadership and activities for student councils. They provide opportunities for training & networking with students and schools in the same region of the state. We combined conferences for districts 2 & 3 (middle & south) due to numbers in attendance at the middle district conference in the previous 3 years. Leadership summit: summit is held at the state capitol and features state leaders. The focus is officer training or training for leaders of leaders. Jcslp/cslp: --the junior certified student leader program (jcslp) is designed to inspire and prepare middle school students to grow as confident, capable leaders. Students will participate in a series of three leadership development sessions led by gasc student officers and advisors, where they will build skills in communication, collaboration, and presentation. The program concludes with a capstone project, where participants design and share their own leadership workshop. Selected workshops may even be invited to be presented at the gasc state convention, giving junior leaders the chance to showcase their growth on a statewide stage. Jcslp provides middle school students with a strong foundation in leadership and prepares them for future opportunities in high school and beyond. --the gasc certified student leader program is an advanced leadership experience for students seeking to elevate their influence within gasc, their schools, and their communities. Through four interactive virtual leadership development sessions, candidates sharpen their leadership skills, explore advanced concepts, and engage in collaborative learning. Their journey culminates in a capstone project, where students design and deliver a student-led leadership workshop. Select workshops may be showcased at the gasc state convention, giving candidates the opportunity to impact student leaders from across georgia. Graduates of cslp emerge as certified student leaders, equipped not only with leadership knowledge but also with the practical skills of facilitation, public speaking, and program design.”
