Dewey heights & turtle creek: these programs provide housing for young men aged 18-24 (dewey heights) and 18-21 (turtle creek) who are aging out of the child welfare system and/or homeless. They focus on supporting these individuals in their transition to independent living through access to education, life skills training, and employment opportunities. Park place & laurel place: both programs offer affordable housing units in middlesex county for low-income families and individuals aging out of the child welfare system. They aim to provide stable housing and support services to help residents achieve independence and self-sufficiency. Diversion: this program quickly helps homeless and at-risk households identify immediate housing needs and connects them with necessary services to prevent homelessness. It focuses on middlesex county residents but can assist with relocation anywhere in new jersey. Street outreach: the goal of this program is to engage homeless households and those at risk, linking them to supportive housing services in monmouth county. Gsh staff provide direct assistance with food, clothing, transportation, personal hygiene products, and other immediate needs. Recovery housing: gsh's lighthouse program, based on the recovery housing model, provides housing for individual males with a history of substance use disorder. The program aims to help residents live independently and work towards having their own space. Shelter support: this program provides minor renovation and essential program supplies for gsh's transitional housing programs. Lead remediation and abatement program (lrap): through this program, gsh identifies homes built before 1978 and assesses them for lead-based paint hazards. If lead is found, gsh works with certified contractors to remediate the hazards at no cost to the tenant or landlord.

The organization is a nonprofit corporation that is exempt from income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the accompanying financial statements. Gsh holdings is formed as a single member llc with all income passing through to its nonprofit owner. Fasb asc 740-10-65-1 requires financial statement recognition of the impact of a tax position, if that position is more than likely than not to be sustained on examination, based on the technical merits of the position. The benefit is calculated as the largest amount that is more than 50 percent likely to be realized upon resolution of the benefit. The organization has evaluated its tax positions and believes all could be sustained upon examination. With few exceptions, the organization is no longer subject to income tax examinations by federal authorities for years before 2021.
