As of December 31, 2018, the Organization had no amounts related to unrecognized income tax benefits and no amounts related to accrued interest and penalties. The Organization does not anticipate any significant changes to unrecognized income tax benefits over the next year.”

In 2018, we raised more than $96,000 from individual donors for contributions to FV@W writ large, an increase of nearly $6,000 over the previous year. The number of donors has nearly doubled - from 75 donors in 2016 to approximately 130 in 2018.Throughout the year, we worked to diversify our revenue streams. We secured a new $10,000 major donor, recruited 58 additional donors to support our work, obtained more than $7,500 in new corporate support, and we continued to receive support from the Fel-Pro Family Foundation and the Proteus Fund. We have over 60 prospective donors of high net worth that we are cultivating, and we held several events throughout 2018 to meet new donors and grow our base of support from individuals.We again held our largest fundraiser, the GameChanger Awards, in Washington, DC, with in-kind support from AFL-CIO. We have made this an annual event that will grow each year. In 2018, we brought in more than $40,000 in revenue from a number of current and new donors.We continue to increase our use of social media as tools in fundraising - eblasts, Facebook posts and Twitter. Peer-to-peer campaigns, leveraging our social media presence, has been particularly effective in bringing in new donors and additional funds to support our organization. Our Digital Director is analyzing metrics from these efforts and ways to boost them. Our Director of Development has outlined an individual donor base building strategy that will invest in building public support for our organization and our mission in 2019 and beyond. GrantsDuring 2018, we secured two gifts from Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, program support for $370,000 over two years and $500,000 over three years for general operating support. We received $15,000 from CityHealth - A Project of the de Beaumont Foundation and Kaiser Permanente. We received $8,000 in project support from the Hill Snowdon Foundation, as well as $50,000 from Irving Harris Foundation toward a new effort to engage with affordable child care advocates. Additionally, we were a finalist in the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative's Communities Thrive Challenge, which came with a $10,000 award.We regularly send Letters of Intent and Grant Proposals to private foundations on an annual basis. We have been invited to submit a proposal to the Heising-Simons Foundation for a $250,000 grant in 2019. Other new foundations we are building relationships with include the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Kresge, the Alliance for Early Success, the Marguerite Casey Foundation, General Services Foundation, Pivotal, the Rockefeller Foundation, Nathan Cummings, Perigee, and a dozen other major foundations. Prior Year Facts and Circumstances: We made remarkable strides in garnering public support in 2017, and we continue to enhance and cultivate those efforts in 2018. In 2017, we raised more than $113,000 from individual donors for contributions to FV@W writ large, an increase of nearly $20,000 over the previous year. The number of donors also increased from approximately 90 in 2016 to over 144 in 2017 - a 60% increase.Throughout the year, we worked with a fundraising consulting firm in DC to help diversify our revenue streams. With their help, we secured increased support from Sheryl Sandberg ($50,000) and we continue to receive support from the Fel-Pro Family Foundation and the Proteus Fund. We have over 60 prospective donors of high net worth that we are cultivating, as we held several cultivation events throughout 2017 to meet new donors and grow our base of support from individuals.We again held our GameChanger Awards in Washington, DC, as a fundraiser, with in-kind support from AFL-CIO.
