“The magee benevolent foundation form 990 is prepared by horne, llp. Upon completion the form 990 is reviewed by the controller and ceo of magee benevolent association, prior to filing with the irs. The form 990, is also made available to the board of directors for their review.”

“Prior to any governing board assembly during which deciding votes will be cast regarding new financial relationships or arrangements, the executive director of the organization will review and consider each member of the voting assembly for any potential conflict of interest in relation to the transaction or arrangement in question. The executive director will ask any individual whose relationship may present a conflict of interest to abstain from casting a vote.”

“Compensation of the executive director and key employees includes a review and approval by independent and non-independent personnel. Comparability data is used when necessary, however, a review of the budget which served as contemporaneous substantiation, updated the 2015 compensation for the director that was hired in late november of 2014.”

“The organization's governing documents and financial statements are available to the public upon request during normal business hours at the administration offices of the organization.”

“The organization does not have its own audit committee; however, the audit committee of magee general hospital oversees the audit as the foundation is consolidated with the hospital for reporting purposes. The hospital's process for selecting and overseeing the independent auditors has not changed from prior year. Serving on this committee during 2015 were: amy tolliver, chanda roberts (controller), and dr. Charles pruitt,iii,md.”
