Declining enrollment at Bradley University has led to a decrease in Greek Life membership. Sigma Alpha Epsilon has experienced a related decline in its membership. As such, the Illinois Epsilon - Sigma Alpha Epsilon organization's reserves (which are used to pay for repairs, maintenance, and renovations to the fraternity's chapter house) have been drained over the past several years. As such, in 2025, the Illinois Epsilon - Sigma Alpha Epsilon organization hired a firm to help us facilitate a fundraising campaign from our alumni. The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds that will enable broader maintenance and renovation to the chapter house. In 2025, expenses associated with the campaign have been $64,070 (included in the expenses shown on line 13 of the 990ez), and we have collected donations of $31,236 (included in line 1 of page 1 of the 990ez). It is anticipated that future donations in 2026 and beyond will provide enough funds to surpass the expense of the campaign and enable us to make the necessary improvements to the chapter house. Those revenues (donations) and expenses, when incurred, will be reflected in higher revenues and maintenance costs as the funds are used to make those improvements.
