“Upon completion of the Organization's Form 990, the return is reviewed by the CFO for accuracy and completeness. The return is made available to any board member that wishes to review and they are free to ask any questions or engage in discussion regarding any topic in the return. Once the CFO has reviewed and approved the Form 990, the return is filed with the Internal Revenue Service.”

“The management team of the Organization meets together to create and recommend a budget for the upcoming year. Included in this proposed budget are compensation recommendations for the entire staff. These recommendations have been reviewed and approved by the President, after individual discussions with the Sr. Vice Presidents and annual employee evaluations. The detailed list of employee salaries is presented to the Chairman and the Treasurer for their review, input and approval. The entire budget is presented for approval to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. During this presentation, salaries are shown as a line item in total and not shown by individual. The incoming and outgoing Chairman review annually and set the compensation for the President.”

“The Organization's financial statements were prepared on the modified cash basis of accounting, which is a comprehensive basis of accounting other than generally accepted accounting principles. Under that basis, certain revenues and the related assets are recognized when paid rather than when earned, and certain expenses are recognized when paid rather than when the obligation is incurred. The financial statements deviate from the cash basis of accounting in that investments are recorded at fair value, property and equipment are recorded and depreciated over their useful lives and deferred revenue is recorded for sponsorships received in advance of the year in which they are due.”
