IRS990/Description0Tri-County Practice Association dba Seton Brain & Spine Institute (SBSI) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to providing quality patient care to patients with disorders of the brain and spine. SBSI research and clinical trials are at the forefront of a program dedicated to improving neurosciences care for all Central Texans. SBSI is operated by a related tax-exempt organization, Seton Healthcare, f/k/a Daughters of Charity Health Services of Austin, dba the Seton Family of Hospitals. SBSI has been in the organizational stages and became operational in June 2010.(Continued on Schedule O) (Continued)Patient Services Inpatient and outpatient treatment is provided to the community for the following disorders: - Brain tumors- Epilepsy- Spine- Stroke- Spinal cord injury- Dementia- Impaired movement- Traumatic brain injury Medical services include:- Neurology- Neurophysiology- Neuropsychology- Neurosurgery- Orthopedic spine - Physical medicine and rehabilitation- Physical medicine and rehabilitation psychiatry- PsychiatrySome of the services listed above operate at a loss in order to ensure that all services are available to meet community health care needs.Organizational Commitment to Providing Community Benefit:SBSI furthers its charitable purposes by providing a broad array of services to the community. Our investment in research also allows our patient population access to state-of-the-art technology, medications and treatment protocols. It allows our healthcare practitioners to experience and share new and upcoming treatment options on the leading edge of science. It's this relationship between research and practice, combined with our collaborative and interdisciplinary care model, which leads to more advances and exceptional outcomes for our patients.
