“2019 impact report title: investing in our communities to enhance opportunities article by rick d. Senft, ceo and president, titled, "investing in our communities" passavant memorial homes family of services (pmhfos) is privileged to be responsible for positively impacting the lives of thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral needs. We understand that there are many aspects of an individual's life that contribute toward their ability to be successful in the community in which they live, and so even by offering a holistic array of support services via passavant memorial homes (pmh), pdc pharmacy, life enrichment trust (let), accessible dental services (ads), and passavant memorial homes foundation (pmhf), we recognize that our efforts and resources must extend beyond that of the supports that we directly provide. Across 2019, our goal has been to invest in our communities to further create and enhance opportunities for the individuals we serve such that they can fully pursue the achievement of their own specific goals. As ceo and president of pmhfos, i am proud to share, through this annual message, some of the many investments that we have made, and more importantly how they have further enabled individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs to thrive. One of the most important aspects of anyone's community is their home, and as a provider of community-based residential services to over 390 children and adults across western and central pennsylvania and the state of delaware, pmh understands the significance of ensuring that each one of our homes is representative of our commitment to enabling each individual to feel safe, supported, and included. As such, pmh seeks to own our community homes, providing security and permanency for the individuals who live there as well as their family members and loved ones. In 2019, pmh invested over $1.25 million in purchasing eight new residential properties in order to transition out of remaining lease arrangements and promote community involvement. In doing so, pmh has further been able to customize each home to meet the specific needs and interests of the individuals living there. Pmhfos has also directly embedded resources into the erie, pennsylvania, and new castle, pennsylvania, communities through the opening of pdc pharmacy's newest pharmacy location and pmh's new home and community services regional office. In both instances, this has enabled pdc and pmh, respectively, to enhance the quality and accessibility of services available locally for individuals within these geographic areas. Technology is another area that pmhfos invested heavily in during 2019 to further support our mission. Throughout 2019, pmhfos implemented new technology solutions across our organization, such as a robotic dispensing machine to automate the filling of certain medications through pdc pharmacy, increasing the reliability and accuracy of the medications, as well as an organization-wide online learning management platform to enhance the quality and availability of employee training materials. Further and of utmost importance, across 2019, pmhfos has continuously invested in our dedicated employees. It is my belief that staff are the most critical asset of any organization, and throughout 2019, we wanted to demonstrate our appreciation of our staff through a variety of initiatives, such as our inaugural above and beyond employee recognition ceremony as well as our 25 days of christmas employee recognition raffle. It has truly been an outstanding year in the advancement of our organization's mission, and i am greatly appreciative of the devoted members of the boards of directors and all the valued business partners and associate organizations that have supported us. As we look forward to 2020, we are committed to continuously enhancing and evolving the services that we provide to facilitate additional opportunities for individuals to b”
“Pmh, pmhf, let, let-nj, ads, and the housing initiative corporations are not-for-profit corporations as described under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (irc) and are recognized as tax exempt under 501(a) of the code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been provided. Pdc is a for-profit corporation and is subject to federal and state income taxes. Pdc provides for income taxes in accordance with the asset and liability method. Under this method, deferred taxes are determined based on the difference between the financial statement and the tax basis of assets and liabilities using enacted tax rates in effect in the years in which the differences are expected to reverse. Deferred tax assets are provided for operating losses that are available to offset future taxable income and tax credits that are available to offset future federal income taxes. A valuation allowance is established for any deferred tax asset for which realization is not considered likely. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require the organization to evaluate tax positions taken by the organization and recognize a tax liability or asset if the organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue services (irs). The organization has concluded that as of june 30, 2020 and 2019, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or asset or disclosure in the consolidated financial statements. Generally, tax returns for years ended june 30, 2017, and thereafter remain subject to examination by federal and state tax authorities.”

| IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | PMH, PMHF, LET, LET-NJ, ADS, AND THE HOUSING INITIATIVE CORPORATIONS ARE NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATIONS AS DESCRIBED UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE (IRC) AND ARE RECOGNIZED AS TAX EXEMPT UNDER 501(A) OF THE CODE. GENERALLY, TAX RETURNS FOR YEARS ENDED JUNE 30, 2017, AND THEREAFTER REMAIN SUBJECT TO EXAMINATION BY FEDERAL AND STATE TAX AUTHORITIES. |
