“Explanation Regarding Salaries and Wages Reporting Our organization currently employs a full-time Executive Director based in Costa Rica. However, we do not report any salaries or wages in Part I, Line 13 of Form 990 because we do not directly pay or issue W-2 or 1099 forms for this position. The funds designated to support the Executive Directors salary are redirected to our fiscal sponsor, the Monteverde Community Fund, located in Monteverde, Costa Rica (www.monteverdefund.org). The Monteverde Community Fund handles all employment-related responsibilities for this position, including salary payments and applicable tax reporting according to Costa Rican regulations. This arrangement allows us to maintain compliance with local employment laws and simplifies administration while ensuring the Executive Directors position is fully funded and supported.”
