“Gco - general program focus family resource center - the resource center, located at the las casitas apartment complex, provides food and clothing to approximately 200 - 250 needy families each week. The family resource center has been vital during these rough times of covid and inflation. Additionally, our team provides the children of las casitas with special holiday events during easter, halloween, and through our season of giving during christmas. This year we will be giving 98 children gifts for christmas that they otherwise would not be able to have. For our homeless outreach through our partnership with meet the challenge, gco host a biannual outreach on the gateway city church campus where we provide the homeless with much-needed essentials including food, blankets, haircuts, clothing, and a message of hope. This year we served 152 homeless guests at our site alone backpack drive as children prepared to return to school on campus this year, gco was able to provide over 105 backpacks to not only the children at the las casitas apartments but also at other non-profit groups such as the city peace project who helped distribute them and other school essentials to families in need.”

THIS YEAR WE SERVED 152 HOMELESS GUESTS AT OUR SITE ALONE BACKPACK DRIVE AS CHILDREN PREPARED TO RETURN TO SCHOOL ON CAMPUS THIS YEAR, GCO WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE OVER 105 BACKPACKS TO NOT ONLY THE CHILDREN AT THE LAS CASITAS APARTMENTS BUT ALSO AT OTHER NON-PROFIT GROUPS SUCH AS THE CITY PEACE PROJECT WHO HELPED DISTRIBUTE THEM AND OTHER SCHOOL ESSENTIALS TO FAMILIES IN NEED. |
