Elevate orlando seeks to empower urban
The mission of the organization is to empower urban youth to graduate with a plan for the future through building long term, life changing relationships. The core of the organization is built around placing full and part time paid staff members in under performing puclic schools who teach character, education & life skills during the school day. Staff members develop mentoring relationships with students from 4th grade through college. Staff members help urban strdents walk the path to independence and to "break the cycle" and "build the bridges" for urban youth to live successful and productive lives. The organization sees to accomplish the above purposes through three specific programming areas: 1. In school - teaching charachter, leadership and life skills for success. 2. 24/7 mentoring: teacher/mentors spend 40+ hours per month mentoring urban youth outside of the classroom through one-on-one bonding, leadership camps, service projects and adventure activities. 3.
