“In 2017, we saw the fruition of our work in eastern europe as award ceremonies were arranged and special charities were established. Eventually, more than 9,000 persons would attend the event, with charity awards president, doug wead presenting awards to 22 exceptional leaders of charity. As part of our mission, to encourage other nations to establish their own charity awards, a special fund was established, separate from the charity awards, to help research into autism. The work has been underway now for almost a year and is showing profound results. During summer of 2017 we hosted two of the chibok girls, joy bishara and lydia pogu. We arranged for these young ladies to receive the equivalent of almost 800,000 of scholarships and living expenses at southeastern university, where they are currently studying. In june 2017, ivanka trump spoke at the state department to highlight new programs that deal with human trafficking. Doug wead, the president of the charity awards and his whole staff, along with joy bishara and lydia pogu, were invited to meet and discuss the issue with ivanka trump. They met with president trump in the oval office. The charity awards helped set up a go fund me account for the girls, to help them return to nigeria for the summer where they met with the president of nigeria and spoke out about human trafficking and the need for the philanthropic community to speak up about the need. As part of its commitment to international work, two members of the charity awards traveled to canyonville, oregon where they met with students from 15 countries and conducted week long seminars with administration and staff. People magazine featured the chibok girls, canyonville christian academy and the president of the charity awards. The girls have been invited to speak at the un in novmeber 2017 about the importance of government to keep education around the world safe.”
