“Poimen ministries is a team of pastoral couples that serve our ministry with the goal of "strengthening pastors to strengthen churches". We provide pastor-to-pastor training, counseling, mentoring, and coaching either in person, by telephone, or in zoom sessions. The poimen ministries pastors are missionarieis that raise their own financial support. Poimen ministries does not charge for their services, but when asked, they provide recommendations regarding honoraria and travel expense reimbursements. Poimen ministries serves senior pastors(and thereby, their churches),in one or more of the following ways: church assessments: a comprehensive evaluation of a church's ministry. Observation sessions include attending board and elder meetings, sunday and mid-week services to evaluate a church's leadership team and to give perspective on their procedures and policies. This can also include reviewing bylaws. On-site transitional senior pastor: a poimen pastor acts as the experieinced, interim pastor to assist the leadership team in finding, vetting, and installing a new pastor when it is necessary to replace a pastor. This includes guiding the congregation through healing, recovery, and adjustment to the new pastor. The poimen pastor provides guidance in leadership and board governance. Off-site transition support: a pastor leaving his congregation reaches out to poimen ministries to help develop a plan of transition from the current pastor to a new pastor. The goal is to have a smooth transition, successful relationship building, and instill confidence between the new pastor and congregation. Pastoral coaching: poimen ministries provides counsel or mentoring in areas including legal, corporate, marital, conflict resolution, financial counseling, etc. We provide encouragement and perspective on current procedures and policies, which helps a senior pastor grow and develop in their leadership position. Sunday morning teaching/pulpit supply/sabbatical support: a poimen pastor temporarily fills in for a pastor who needs time off. Retreat or conference speaking/leading: a poimen pastor is called upon to speak or lead a conference for a church. Podcast ministry: the "strength for today's pastor" podcast is directed to senior or lead pastors of christian churches. It aims to give them tools, inspriation, and direction concerning how to better fulfill their calling, and thus strengthen their churches. Poimen ministries has assisted 153 churches, 1,630 senior pastors and leaders, and 30,900 congregants this year.”
