To advance interoperable health information technology to improve the quality and safety of health care and reduce costs. To advance, develop and operate a health information infrastructure based on a community-driven model open to participation by all health care providers facilitating the exchange of patient health information among disparate clinicians, other authorized entities, and patients in real time while ensuring security and privacy concerns. To facilitate the exchange of clinical information among Health Information Users so that clinicians have access to the information necessary to guide clinical decision and care coordination. To promote a system where information follows the health care consumer so they are at the center of their care. To engage in the Statewide Health Information Network of NY (SHIN-NY) to create the ability to share data across the continuum of care resulting in higher quality and better health outcomes in a more cost-effective environment for patient

The organization has a board approved conflicts of interest policy that must be reviewed by the Board on an annual basis. Each Board member must fill out an annual declaration stating they had no conflicts or identifying the nature of their interested party transactions.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 15A: Compensation Review & Approval Process - CEO, Top Management

Interboro RHIO does not have any employees. Instead, Interboro RHIO has Employee Leasing Agreements with the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine and Winthrop University Hospital, pursuant to which Interboro leases its staff (including the Executive Director). The compensation for the Executive Director was determined by the Interboro RHIO Board of Directors and included review of comparability data.

The HIE enables health care providers to electronically access and use clinical information, compiled from various sources, about their patients' health as they make treatment decisions.Inter-operable Health Information Technology: Recognizing that the benefits of electronic health information exchange will not be realized unless a critical mass of health care providers participate, Interboro RHIO is working with the NYS Department of Health and the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) to facilitate HIE on a broader scale across our community. Interboro continues to expand participation and has connected to the Statewide Health Information Network in New York (SHIN-NY) to facilitate the sharing of information across providers and RHIOs in NY State.
