Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

The center is generally exempt from federal income taxes under the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. In addition, the center qualifies for charitable contribution deductions and has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation. As such, it is exempt from income taxes on all but unrelated business income. Tax positions for open tax years were reviewed and determined that no provision for uncertain tax positions is required. The center is currently open to audit under the statute of limitations by the internal revenue service and state taxing authorities for the fiscal years after 2012.

IN ADDITION, THE CENTER QUALIFIES FOR CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION DEDUCTIONS AND HAS BEEN CLASSIFIED AS AN ORGANIZATION THAT IS NOT A PRIVATE FOUNDATION. AS SUCH, IT IS EXEMPT FROM INCOME TAXES ON ALL BUT UNRELATED BUSINESS INCOME. TAX POSITIONS FOR OPEN TAX YEARS WERE REVIEWED AND DETERMINED THAT NO PROVISION FOR UNCERTAIN TAX POSITIONS IS REQUIRED. THE CENTER IS CURRENTLY OPEN TO AUDIT UNDER THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS BY THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE AND STATE TAXING AUTHORITIES FOR THE FISCAL YEARS AFTER 2012.
