Board members are also residents of the facility. Thus, the organization has issued rights to units to board members. Board members/residents pay an initial membership fee and a monthly service fee at the same rate as all other residents.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization qualifies as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and does not pay taxes unless the organization becomes subject to unrelated business income tax (ubit); therefore, no income tax provision or liability is reflected in the financial statements. The organization adopted the provisions of fasb codification topic 740-10 related to uncertain income tax positions. As a result of the organization being a non-profit corporation, management believes there are no uncertain income tax positions taken which would require the organization to reflect a liability for unrecognized tax benefits on the accompanying statements of financial position. The organization is no longer subject to income tax examinations by federal, state, or local tax authorities for years before april 30, 2022.
