“Lef funded 29 grants to lansing public schools during the 2020-2021 school year. This includes educate the pride classroom grants, building grants, major gifts, and teacher of the year/educational support professional of the year grants. Educate the pride mini-grants fund classroom initiatives that focus on innovation and enrich student learning in various amounts. These grants have historically ranged from school culture program support, behavior interventions support teams, and new classroom technology, to assisting in student learning and the acquisition of character enrichment books, as well as stem-related enrichment programs.”

“The autism grant program benefits students with autism and related disabilities. Lansing public schools hosts a day treatment program, severe autism classroom, and a special education program for students aged 18-21 for students residing in the leavenworth county area. This program also supports teacher and staff education for certification as a board certified behavior analyst.”

“Lef annual honors awards breakfast recognizes student academic achievement, teachers of the year, educational support professionals of the year, and teacher grant recipients. Normally, over 600 staff, business members, parents and students attend the honors awards breakfast. This year's event was cancelled due to covid-19.”
