Mission

The primary objective for the organization is to maintain an excellent relationship between the citizens and visitors of the city of Gatlinburg, the Gatlinburg Firefighter's Association and its membership. The objective will be achieved through community outreach, fire prevention, and fire education programs designed with the community and membership interests in mind.

Public Education - CPR, basic first Aid, AED classes taught to the community free of charge. Open House where people are provided with free information from local public service agencies, provided with and taught about local fire codes, preventative measures, provided with various materials on fire safety and health, and are able to meet with and talk to their local first responders.$0$5,294
Community Outreach - car seat/safe sleep program initiatives, car seat are installed by trained and certified technicians. Safe sleep program provides pack n plays ad training on how to make sure a child is sleeping in a safe manner. We participate in many local events throughout our community and provide fire and life safety information at these events. Bank Charges -this is for a safety deposit box in which important documentation is held Charitable Contributions: - this is for donations being made to local fundraisers or charities that benefit things like local health events, fire prevention etc that we believe help meet our mission statement Fire Prevention - provides smoke alarms and installation. PR events such as Open House which provides information form all areas in public safety (National Park, local police departments, local health clinics, and hospitals), fire prevention week at local school ( provides children with knowledge on how to make their homes fire safe, home escape plans, the importance of 911 and how to use it and be prepared to use it), CPR classes, First Aid classes etc. There are also annual community events held in the city we participate in to help get fire prevention information spread. Forgotten Child Fund - provides clothing, shoes, basic needs, and a few Christmas gifts for local families that are in need during the holidays; each family is chosen based on need and items are delivered by the fire department. Kids Camp - Week long camp for elementary aged children in the summer. This is a fun week that provides activities related to fire prevention, learning about the fire service, providing basic first aid, bicycle safety, etc. This is provided free of charge by the Association. Meals and Entertainment -to provide food and awards for special events. This can include events for fire department staff,local public, agencies, and providing meals for instructors/mentors who come in to teach the fire department personnel and the local community specialized trainings. Office expenses - paper, pens, notepads, notebooks, Post Office Box fees, envelopes, checks etc. Capital Improvements - refurbishing or fixing items used in the department, beautification of the fire stations, tools, living items, fitness equipment so firefighters can workout while on 24 hour tour of duty.
