“Olympic peninsula ministries (opm) is formed to help attend to the needs of pastors and their families who serve in the churches on the olypmic peninsula in the state of washington.”

“Most of the pastors counseled serve in communities and churches are quite small and therefore many pasotors are bi-vocational, increasing the demands upon them and their families, and need care and support. Olymplic peninsula ministries (opm) helps meet this need through cultivating personal relationships with them, as due to their high visability, it is difficult for them to speak openly about their own concerns and needs. Opm meets regularly with them, both individually and in small groups, usually in a public setting for coffee or lunch. Opm listens, cares, consults and counsels; and also supplies them with books, journals, magazines and cd's which can address their particular needs. One-to-one ministry serves over 40 pastors ranging as far as 90 miles away. These sessions normally last from 90 minutes to two hours and usually occur over coffee or a meal. Group ministry forms and fosters regular small group meetings of pastors in their specific geographical locations for the purpose of fostering supportive relationships amoung the clergy in a particular community or area. Opm provides the refreshments and materials for the group discussions. Couples ministry serves individual pastors and their spouses over a meal with an opm couple in order to encourage them in their shared pastoral responsibilities, their marriage and their care for their children. Support program ministries serves churches in need by providing pastors, preachers and teachers; serves pastors' wives with encouragement and support at individual coffees or meals; and a regular support newsletter.”
