“J & j new beginnings is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, more specifically to provide women and men who are seeking recovery from the disease of alcoholism and chemical dependency with a safe, high quality sober living environment designed to help the individual attain a clean and sober lifestyle; access to 12-step programs and support meetings designed to attain long-term sobriety; help and support in making the transition back into the mainstream life. J & j new beginnings sober living/transitional homes ("new beginnings") provides coaching and mentoring services to individuals who are recovering from alcoholism and/or addiction to empower them to make the transition to a sober lifestyle that will allow them to become fully participating members of society. The new beginnings program requires that participants sign an agreement committing to: attend five to seven 12-step meetings per week, get a sponsor, and work the alcoholics anonymous steps; get a job; actively participate in and contribute to new beginnings house affairs and activities; and treat their fellow residents with love and respect, and be willing to "live in recovery" by maintaining a strict curfew and absolutely refraining from drug and/or alcohol use. New beginnings serves approximately 100 to 125 people per year in a sober living program.”
