The foundation will help bridge the gap between funding downingtown area school district's basic educational needs and funding the district's innovative educational initiatives that meet the district's strategic objective of engaging the hearts and minds of all of our students through relevant, high quality learning experiences that prepare them to be active 21st century citizens in a global society. With an increased emphasis on interdisciplinary study and 21st century skills, the downingtown area school district must provide our students with the tools necessary to succeed in a changing world. To do this, the district must continue to put forward the necessary resources and facilities that are needed to help our students meet tomorrow's challenges. Today's students must be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective.
