“The Board of Directors is provided with a copy of the Form 990 via email and at a Board meeting prior to its submission. The Board is invited to submit questions and comments to management and the preparer.”

“Each director, principal officer, and member of a commitee with Board delegated powers shall annually sign a statement which affirms such persons have received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, has read and understands the policy, has agreed to comply with the policy and understands their responsiblity to disclose conflicts of interests and recuse themselves from discussion and decisions pertaining to matters where they may be conflicted.”

“The Executive Director and Program Director's compensation is set by the Board of Directors, is evaluated against compensation data for comparable non profit organizations, and is documented via contemporaneous substantiation of the Board's deliberation and decision.”

“When additional positions are created and filled, the compensation review process will follow the same procedures as used for the Executive Director and top management.”

“Kids for Peace' ability to engage in schools in its major programs was severely impacted during the COVID-19 shutdown. The impact continues to be reflected in the negative net assets balance ($49,647). Major ongoing factors include the deferral of making payments on the EIDL loan that was obtained in 2020-21, inflationary pressure on expenses, and the fact that contributions and grants have not recovered to pre-COVID levels. Management believes to begin to make regular payments on the EIDL loan in 2025-26 and continues to pursue increasing income while seeking to manage costs.”
