| Children's Garden is licensed by the Department of Social Welfare as a Residential Care facility providing housing and supplemental education to boys who had been living on the streets of Metro Manila. Many have been deemed to be In crisis with the Law and without facilities like Children's Garden they would be housed in the overcrowded municipal jails. Teachers and Social Workers working with Children's Garden enabled 11 of these boys to move up to the next grade level in Primary school and helped 4 boys complete Secondary school this past year. Many of the resident boys begin training in life skills and vocational skills while being mainstreamed into their primary grades in Public School. Having access to teachers, a library and classroom within Children's Garden allows most of the boys to catch up to their age group peers and graduate close to on-time. | $33,792 | $42,886 |
| The 2nd Phase program developed out of the need to reinforce and continue the success of Children's Garden. Young families and adults who were raised in the Children's Garden shelter and network continue to receive mentorship and guidance from our partners. Funding is provided for unexpected medical needs, disaster relief, continuing education, and certification and licensing requirements for employment. 2 families received grants for building supplies to reinforce their concrete hollow block homes and upgrade their plumbing. 14 individuals received grants for work related expenses, 5 received assistance with college or vocational education. 3 hospitalizations and the cost of a funeral were also covered. | $21,082 | $26,756 |
| At This Moment recognizes the conditions of the homeless in the neighborhoods we see everyday. Although the majority of our efforts are directed to homelessness and children in crisis with the law in the Philippines we are driven to care for the increasing number of families seen on the streets in the United States. Through purposeful outreach and incidental contact we provided immediate shelter to 74 families and food to more than 220 individuals. The majority of families were at risk of losing one or both parents due to the criminalization of their housing status. | $18,436 | $23,398 |
