Compensation decisions are governed by the organization's compensation plan, performance appraisal process, and an analysis of comparable compensation data. The organization's compensation plan is consulted for all pay decisions upon hire, promotion, demotion, or addition/subtraction of esponsibilities. An analysis of compensation data is conducted to ensure continued adherence to competitive compensation rates reflective of the non-profit, for-profit, local, and national markets. Additionally, executive director & ceo and key employee performance is reviewed annually; increases are determined by the organization's compensation plan, employee's appraisal rating, budgeted amounts for pay increases/bonuses, and the organization's performance/net surplus.

All employees are required to review and acknowledge a policy manual that includes compliance, general employment, and financial policies at the time of hire and when any major policy changes are made. Additionally, the mob musuem maintains a whistleblower hotline (red flag reporting) where employees can anonymously report potential conflicts of interest or financial misconduct. All reports received on the whistleblower hotline are immediately sent to the chair and the vice chair of the board of directors.

Each director is entitled to one vote on all matters submitted to the board. One third of the directors shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting of the board. The executive committee may act on behalf of the board in emergency situations, but cannot amend bylaws, elect or remove other board members, hire or fire the executive director & ceo, approve the annual budget, or make major structural decisions (i.e. Mergers, addition/subtraction of programs, dissolution of corporation, etc.)

PART III, LINE 1A:

Collection items consist of historic treasures that are held for educational and curatorial purposes. Each of the items is cataloged, preserved, and cared for, and activities verifying their existence and assessing their condition are performed continuously. Collection items acquired either through purchase or donation are not capitalized. Purchases of collection items are recorded as decreases in net assets without donor restrictions if purchased with assets without donor restrictions and as decreases in net assets with donor restrictions if purchased with donor-restricted assets. Contributions of collection items are not recognized in the statements of activities. Collection items are protected, kept unencumbered, cared for, and preserved.

PART III, LINE 4:

The museum accurately depicts mob history, dispels the legendary "myth of the mob, and provides detail on the significant role of law enforcement in the ending the mob's reign in las vegas and elsewhere in america. The museum's intent is to accurately recount and share the history of organized crime. Considerable focus is on those in law enforcement who played major roles in defeating the mob. Museum exhibits will be updated to reflect new findings, information and acquisitions.

PART X, LINE 2:

The corporation is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the irc. The accounting standards on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes address the determination of whether tax benefits claimed or expected to be claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the consolidated financial statements. Under that guidance, the corporation may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities based on the technical merits of the position. There were no unrecognized tax benefits identified or recorded as liabilities as of december 31, 2024 and 2023.
