“1.tucumcari railroad museum - the tucumcari railroad museum was acquired by tucumcari mainstreet in june 2020. Tucumcari mainstreet remains dedicated to the rehabilitation of the historic train depot and operation of the tucumcari railroad museum. With a 25,000 grant from union pacific and additional grants from two private sector grants, tms was able to renovate the east room. The room has been fully renovated and is now offered as a rentable space. To date the room has been rented for events such as bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, workshops, and a book signing. Tucumcari mainstreet staff has worked in the museum to cover the days when we do not have volunteers.”

“2.great blocks on main street project - new mexico economic development department and new mexico mainstreet have developed a comprehensive design program to assist high-capacity mainstreet districts with an economic revitalization project called "great blocks on main street". Tucumcari mainstreet was awarded this grant project in december of 2015. Phase one of the project has been completed. A grant in the amount of 1.7 million was awarded to tucumcari mainstreet with quay county acting as the fiscal agent. The existing construction plans were updated to reflect updated nmdot ada compliance requirements. Construction will begin once the plans are received. Tms meets bi-weekly with the county manager, city of tucumcari public works director & planning department, nmms staff, and stantec engineers to ensure the project remains on track.”

“3.tms organizational updates - tucumcari mainstreet board and staff worked with nm mainstreet staff to update the organizations economic transformation strategies (ets) and work plan to reflect the updated standards from main street america. Tms facilitated two workshops led by nmms staff as well as reviewed the new city of tucumcari and quay county master plans to ensure that the new ets's are reflective of the county and city plans.”
