“The form 990 is presented to the executive committee for review following the completion of the audit for the fiscal year. Discussion regarding the content/answers or decriptions in the form 990 is summarized and forwarded to the full board of directors at their meeting for information and discussion.”

“Oversight and treatment of any issues raised under the conflict of interest policy for new north, inc. Are addressed by the board development committee. The policy is included in new board member orientation packets and is reviewed annually with all materials provided in the orientation folder.”

“Annually the executive director performance review is conducted by the personnel committee. A review of the job description, with specific focus on outcomes, is conducted. The review includes specific input solicited from executive committee membership. The review concludes with compensation recommendations (if any) to the executive committee. The executive committee conducts a final review, including consideration of performance, market conditions, budget/financial condition of the organization, etc. To accept, reject or modify the recommendation made by the personnel review committee.”

“New north, inc.'s governing documents, policy statements (like the organization's conflict of interest policy) and its financial statements are made readily available to all board members (including the executive committee). Any party outside the board that has demonstrated a reasonable basis for requesting this infomation can approach the executive committee for access to organizational information. Reasonable basis will be determined when the request is focused on learning about how the organization is funded or who is affiliated with the organization's leadership. Annual published reports to the community have served to disclose summary financial information and board membership, along with the task group leadership and voluteers. New north, inc. Strives to present a transparent view of the organization, its work and its public mission/purpose.”
