“Management services are performed by association management firm which include membership services, financial management, meeting management, executive committee meetings, member communications, other services, and general services.”
“The northeastern section (ns-aua) is one of the american urological association's eight geographic sections, with approximately 800 urologists (48 percent us and 52 percent canadian) the section includes 16 urology residency training programs where a total of approximately 180 residents are currently attending. A primary mission of the section is to assure the membership of the ns-aua, continuing excellence in research and educational activity within our section. The section includes a 501(c)(6) membership organization that proudly provides an excellent scientific meeting each fall that includes state-of-the-art speakers, podium and poster sessions, exhibits, and social networking activities. The section has a 501(c)(3) foundation which provides annual scholarship grants to research scholars in basic or clinical sciences related to urology, and to acquiring, developing, or improving knowledge and skills in a specific aspect of the specialty.”
“The section conducts an annual membership business meeting held in conjunction with its annual meeting nominations are open to membership for approximately 3 months prior to the annual meeting and the slate of the nominating committee is presented at the business meeting for approval of the membership issues that precipitate revisions to the ns-aua's bylaws may be brought to the attention of the board of directors (bod) and the bylaws committee by individual members, the leadership of the section, or through written correspondence with various ns-aua committees any discussion among the bylaws committee requiring review and proposed revisions to the bylaws is forwarded in a written report to the bod for review before or at its spring interim meeting proposed changes are then redirected for reaffirmation by the bylaws committee, and proposed amendments are promulgated to the entire ns-aua membership at least thirty (30) days in advance of the annual business meeting at the annual meeting members are encouraged to visit this web page throughout the association year to obtain the latest information and current proposed amendments regarding ns-aua's bylaws.”
