“World Bipolar Day: World Bipolar Day (WBD) is a new initiative of the Society and is a joint collaboration between ISBD and other advocacy organizations to promote awareness about the illness through encouraging other organizations and individuals to hold events designed to reduce the stigma associated with bipolar disorder. The inaugural WBD was held on March 30th, 2014, commemorating the birthday of the famous Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, who was posthumously diagnosed as having had bipolar disorder. ISBD hosted an exhibit of art created by those with lived experience of bipolar disorder at its Annual Conference in March of 2014 to promote WBD, and the ISBD meeting served as the kickoff for WBD. ISBD has contributed to development of concept and logo and maintains the campaigns pr Webinars: The webinars provide members who cannot attend our meetings another way to access education about bipolar disorders. The webinars feature well known speakers in the field and provide updates regarding advances in the diagnosis and treatment of bipolar disorders. Non-members can currently attend a live webinar free of charge, but can only access archived webinars with an ISBD membership.”
